Early years funding reform: free entitlement survey results
Summary
of Survey Findings
PowerPoint presentation giving a summary of the key findings of the free
entitlement survey. Includes an overview of the funding arrangements in the
maintained and PVI sectors, and PVI membership of Schools Forums.
Between March and August 2007 we carried out a survey of local funding
arrangements for the free entitlement and
schools forum membership. This involved asking all local authorities to
complete a questionnaire to provide details on how they go about allocating and
distributing free entitlement funding.
In particular, we asked how they distributed funding to maintained schools with nursery classes, maintained nursery schools and PVI providers, and the membership of their schools forum. The results of this survey provided an invaluable evidence base for the reforms announced in June.
A summary of the findings from this survey is available above. You can also download the individual questionnaire responses received from local authorities listed below. These documents will provide a resource for local authorities to understand the case for reform, to share best practice and for use in reviewing their under 5s funding arrangements.
