Increasing Childcare Take-up – BME
The Government's objective is to extend the reach and take-up of good quality childcare and early years provision among low income families; focusing on families with a disabled child, and black and minority ethnic (BME) families.
The Department for Children, Schools and Families has created a number of approaches to enable local authorities to improve take-up, including the provision of communication resources, support for Children's Information Services, and improving the take-up of the childcare element of Working Tax Credit. The Early Support Programme provides multi-agency support to very young disabled children and their families.
