On 28 August 2008, Kevin Brennan MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Children, Young People and Families announced to Parliament a postponement to the date for deployment of ContactPoint. Deployment is now planned to begin in January 2009.
The announcement was made via the attached letter to the Chair of the Select Committee for Children, Schools and Families.
This letter is has been copied to Lord Filkin, Michael Gove MP and Maria Miller MP. It has also been forwarded to all ContactPoint project managers in local authorities and national partners and other key stakeholders.
