Pathfinder chooses both urban and rural areas for scope - 2

A local authority wanted to ensure that the scope for its tageted youth support (TYS) project was realistic and representative of the situation across its whole area, and therefore as useful as possible in informing the TYS roll-out across the local area.

As the authority covers such a diverse area, its choice of scope had to include areas of deprivation, relative affluence and a rural and urban mix.

A geographical area the authority chose includes a relatively deprived urban area, a relatively affluent rural area, and a rural area - between the two which includes significant affluence and deprivation.

Comments

Although the area chosen for the scope is diverse, the authority found that young people's needs are surprisingly similar across the whole area.
