Adventure Service Challenge is a structured yet flexible programme of training and activities for ages 8 to 14+, adapted to the needs of different individuals and groups. It offers:
-
Adventure
Discovery, exploration, leisure pursuits, creative attitudes and skills for life
-
Service
Concern for others, opportunities to serve those in need
- Challenge Progressive training activities for all members
It is run in youth clubs, primary and secondary schools, often as part of the extended schools offering, and with special needs groups, young offenders and uniformed (eg. Sea Cadets Corps) and unattached groups (eg. home educators).
The scheme is non-competitive. There are no centrally set tests and members are assessed on their experience in each activity. It is often used as a preparation for the Duke of Edinburgh's Award for those too young to undertake the Bronze Award. It is recommended by the Award HQ.
