Crime Concern has produced this guidance on the mainstreaming of Safer School Partnerships, following a briefing from the DfES, the  Home Office, the Association of Chief Police Officers and the Youth Justice Board.

It provides a route map for local multi-agency partnerships, whereby partnerships will determine the appropriate level of response in specific circumstances to meet local needs. Learning points are highlighted throughout.

The document also recognises the different ways the programme integrates with the wider prevention agenda and other recent initiatives such as the 'Respect' agenda, local area agreements, neighbourhood policing and extended schools. It includes a table showing how Safer School Partnerships contribute to the five Every Child Matters outcomes.
