Excellent communication is a priority of the change process and key to improving collaboration between local authority children's trusts, agencies, young people and their communities, and therefore core to the successful delivery of targeted youth support. If stakeholders are not kept informed they may not contribute to, and buy into, the required changes.

Individual trusts and agencies are developing different ways of ensuring excellent communication with stakeholders. This often involves communicating via a variety of channels, for example email, newsletters, conference calls and informal conversations. Where appropriate, it makes sense to build on strong existing communication channels.
