This is a workshop to identify the thresholds used by different agencies and services and explore their implications.
A threshold is a measurable level of need demonstrated by a young person at which point an agency may become involved.
This workshop can be run as a standalone event, or as part of a multi-agency workshop. The thresholds session can be an effective first activity in a multi-agency workshop, before the journey mapping work.
The process is organised around mixed groups with participants from different agencies. Each agency group works to complete a single pre-prepared brown paper that is used to collect and organise the data. Participants should be broken into the smallest possible subgroup of their agency.
The process is in two parts. During the first part, participants share the thresholds/entry criteria they have in their agency and how they identify, assess and refer young people within their agency and with other agencies. During the second part, participants analyse the results to identify similarities, differences and gaps between agencies.
