Introduction to the Common Assessment Framework training materials (slides and delivery notes)

Training slides and detailed training delivery notes for a short introductory module to the Common Assessment Framework for children and young people (CAF), comprising a 30 minute presentation plus optional discussion and exercise. 

This module is intended to be used as the initial part for all training courses on the CAF, providing common messages to all staff.

This module includes brief descriptions of :

• Key aims and principles of the CAF
• When to undertake a common assessment
• The content of the CAF
• The three key steps of the CAF process

These materials were developed to accompany the CAF guidance issued in April 2006. They provide core training materials for local authorities and their partners to use as they are or to adapt to their local needs.
