By 2010 all schools will be providing access to a core offer of extended services. This core offer includes: high-quality childcare 8am-6pm all year round; a varied menu of study support activities; parenting support; swift and easy referral to specialist support services; and wider community access.
This guidance is primarily aimed at schools but offers local authorities and
potential partner organisations advice on planning, funding and setting up
extended services. It also provides a number of case studies of current
sustainable services offered by schools.
