Commissioners use more and more data in planning and commissioning children's services and for many different purposes including:
- Needs assessments
- Children and Young People's Plans
- Choosing services
- Comparing against statistical neighbours
- Reporting to local communities
- Contract compliance
- Performance management
This document brings together many of these sources of data so that commissioners can base decisions on evidence about outcomes. The data available at the website links inside the document covers the whole of England and goes down to local authority level, or even further.
You will already use a lot of this data in your needs assessment but we hope that you will find some of the links new and useful.
This paper is a live document, which will be expanded and updated as statistical sources change. We would like you to send suggestions for improvements and more information to cpp.enquiries@dfes.gsi.gov.uk
