This is a presentation to the senior management group, setting out:
- A summary of any quick wins already implemented or underway
- The solutions developed by the change teams, including budgets and
performance measures
- Implementation plans for those solutions.
Before you deliver the Decision Point 3 presentation, you should have:
- Developed qualitative and quantitative performance measures
- Worked through the budget
- Individually pre-presented the material to all participants in the Decision Point 3 meeting
The objectives of the meeting are to collectively:
- Confirm that the TYS project can progress to the Deliver stage
- Confirm the initial work streams to proceed to the Deliver stage
- Approve initial resources and funding
The success of the Decision Point 3 presentation partly depends on preparing individual stakeholders beforehand. Pre-presents are an important part of this preparation, to ensure key messages are understood and that potential objections are heard and tackled in advance of the decision-making session.
At this stage of the change process, the material presented will strongly reflect the local context and agenda. For this reason, it is difficult to be prescriptive about the content of Decision Point 3, or to offer a standardised template as for Decision Point 2. Once the pathfinder Decision Point 3 presentations have concluded, this toolkit will provide sample materials to show how proposals have been presented to senior management teams in the pathfinder work.
