The advisory group for the research overview held two consultation exercises one with parents and carers, and one with young people. They sought their views on children's social care services that they had used and looked at issues discussed by the advisory group, particularly about some dilemmas that had been thrown up by the research.
The three reports above are intended to provide information on the outcome of those consultations, and also to add to knowledge about effective engagement with stakeholders in research translation.
The reports available above are:

Studies to find the most effective way to involve service users
in research are still in their infancy. This report seeks to
contribute to understanding about what can be done to involve them, and what
may work better in future. It sets out the rationale behind the consultation
exercise and the methods used. It ends with some reflections on
the outcomes and the potential for this kind of exercise.
Children and young people's consultation report
