This report relates to recent discussions about mainstreaming the role of the budget-holding lead professional. It look across the range of services covered by budget-holding lead professionals.
The report looks at budgeting within children's services authorities and at formal pooling of revenue budgets with partners, particularly in health. It considers how forthcoming guidance from the DfES on pooling budgets would apply specifically to the work of the budget-holding lead professional. It also considers how funds can be released to enable the approach that has been established in the pilots areas to continue after the pilots end.
