We have developed an overarching strategy for working with the third sector to deliver change for children and young people. The third sector describes a range of institutions which occupy the space between the state and the private sector, including the volunatary and community sector.
This plan outlines the actions the Department for Children, Schools and Families (formerly the DfES) can take to maximise the benefits of third sector involvement in its policy and delivery agenda.
The plan focuses on the work of the DCSF (formerly DfES), local government partners and the Learning and Skills Council, and reflects our commitments in the Office of the Third Sector's action plans for third sector involvement in public service delivery and for social enterprise.
