This resource includes the revised 2008 statutory guidance for local
authorities and agencies on the 'duty to cooperate' to improve
children's well-being, and a short leaflet which contains a simplified
explanation of what a Children's Trust is for and what it does.
The revised statutory guidance sets out in detail what a Children's Trust
is and what it does. Intended for local authority senior managers and partner
agencies, including schools with responsibility for improving children's
outcomes, it has been revised to reflect the lessons learned since the
publication of Every Child Matters (ECM); progress in the implementation of the
ECM vision, and the development of new policies and programmes to support the
drive for better outcomes for children and young people.
The short leaflet has been provided to communicate the key points.
