Improving Choices for Young People: Developing the Information, Advice and Guidance Workforce

This online package, which has been produced by information, advice and guidance (IAG) specialists, will help the workforce to support the roll-out of the 14-19 reforms.

The resource contains a wide range of information, along with downloads, tools and templates to improve IAG provision and practice. It will help both front line delivery staff and leaders and managers to:

  • Support the development of a collaborative approach to careers education and IAG for young people, aged 11 to 19

  • Promote improvements in the quality, consistency, coherence and impartiality of the careers education and IAG that young people receive

  • Help local partners to develop their IAG workforce, including teachers, tutors, mentors, personal advisers and others who contribute to careers education and IAG

The DCSF see this resource as being central to helping the IAG workforce assess existing collaborative arrangements and their adequacy for 14-19 diploma delivery. The site has had a highly positive reaction from our key partners in the field of IAG.
