Children Looked After in England (Including Adoption and Care Leavers): 2005-2006

This statistical first release provides provisional statistics on children looked after at a national level. It is an update from the previous publication which was released in March 2006. It includes details on overall numbers of looked after children at 31 March, the number of children adopted in 2005-06, the number and qualifications achieved by care leavers in 2005-06 aged 16 and over, and the activity of 19-year-old former care leavers.

Outcome Indicators for Looked after Children, Twelve Months to 30 September 2004 - England

This statistical first release covers a range of outcome indicators for children who have been continously looked after for at least 12 months in England. This is the second time an SFR has been published, although a detailed volume has been released on an annual basis since 2000.

Children Looked After by Local Authorities, Year Ending 31 March 2005

This volume provides statistics on children looked after by local authorities. It is an update from the previous volume released in March 2005. This volume is a reference document including detailed local authorities figures. It contains new data items on mothers in care and on distance between home and placement.

Children Looked After by Local Authorities, Year Ending 31 March 2004

This volume provides statistics on children looked after by local authorities. It is an update from the previous volume released in March 2003 and the Children Looked After in England Statistical Bulletin that was published on 27 January 2005. The bulletin provided mainly 2004 national figures while this volume includes detailed local authority figures. This volume contains a new data item on the causes of deaths of children looked after.
