November 2008

Youth Taskforce Roadshows

These events are aimed at local practitioners involved in front line delivery. They are an opportunity to hear from the heart of government about the role of Aiming High for Young People, Targeted Youth Support and the Youth Taskforce Action Plan in delivering the Government's vision for young people.

The free Roadshows take place in Newcastle (6 November), Coventry (11 November), London (13 November), Nottingham (20 November), Brighton (25 November) and Manchester (27 November).

October 2008

Schools, Colleges, Children's Services and partners: Delivering for at risk and challenging young people

These major conferences support schools, colleges and their partners to implement Targeted Youth Support (TYS) reforms and multi-agency work to deliver Extended Schools and to tackle poor behaviour and attendance. They are free and take place on 21 October (Manchester) and 23 October (London).

March 2008

Secretary of State's visit to Newham's Chance project

On Tuesday 5 March the Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families Ed Balls visited the Chance Project in the London Borough of Newham, he was joined on the visit by Beverley Hughes, Minister of State.

At the visit Ed Balls announced the Youth Taskforce's 52 Challenge and Support areas ahead of the Youth Taskforce's Action Plan launch.
